Gaggui Kaffela - Turku

The place is cute but has unfortunately very limited selection for vegans. Actually, there was only one cake that was vegan. In addition, the shop is quite small so it felt a bit tight and noisy.

Turku is a tough place for people who love pastries but thankfully Gaggui exists and delivers! If you are looking for top quality pastries, cakes and pies with flavourful coffee this is your place! We went for breakfast and had the best pain au chocolat we've ever had in Finland, no doubt about that. Top quality, and spot on as if it came out a French bakery!

This is one of my absolute cafeterias in Finland. They bake unbelievably good cakes and usually have vegan options – some of the best vegan cakes ever. The place specialises in whimsical regional dialect humor.

It has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Oat cappuccino is good, though coffee should be darker in roast. The level and taste of the cakes vary because they are self-made. To my taste they are a little too sweet. An absolute plus is that dogs are welcome. In Finland, the Food Act was amended a few years ago to allow restaurants to decide whether to allow dogs as customers. Gaggui is one of the dog-friendly cafes in Turku. Come here because of the atmosphere.
