Restaurante Posada Salentein - Tunuyán

Biggest disappointment in Mendoza. Food was below “Ok” they managed to wrongly prepare the “ojo de bife” (something almost impossible to achieve even in the worst Argentine places), delivered the dishes and the wines in the writing order. Definitely overpriced for such a bad experience. If you are planning to go to Mendoza there are plenty of much better restaurants in wineries much better than salentein, either by food quality and/or for dining experience. Don’t be fool, avoid this place was much as you can.

My fiancé and I visited Salentein for a four course lunch with wine pairing. The service was fabulous. The food was phenomenal! It was the best empanada I had in Argentina. I followed it with the ribeye which was also amazing. My fiancé started with the smoked eggplant and had the pork shoulder for his entree which were both very flavorful and delicious! The wines that they paired with each dish was spot on. The views from the dining room were beautiful! I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the Mendoza area!

We had a great and tasty hamonized lunch and wine at Salentein’s. The place is modern and absolutely beautiful! So many pieces of art all over the property and a gallery full of pieces as well. Amazing!

They could not find our reservation and treated us so arrogantly, demanding proof ... we had tried to contact them several days in advance and never got a response... no thank you, never again. Our driver said he has never been treated so badly anywhere.

I highly recommend to have lunch there if you can, every step of the meal offers a different wine and you can refill as many times as you want (be carefull! . The only negative thing we found is that they dont have a strong vegetarian alternative, all the dishes are meatbased and the alternative wasn 't on the menu, hope they see this review and make some changes. I think because of the low tourism caused by the pandemic we dont 't need any reservation, just waited 10 minutes, but make sure before you go.
