Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant - Tucson

Very sad experience tonight. I got to see this place in its hay day when a group of young guys with a vision and passion started the business. It was incredible and the food was great. I have seen it go downhill ever since they sold to a large company, but today was rock bottom. The plates were filthy , the floor was filthy , the tables are bartered and worn. No drinks for 8 minutes so we asked for the manager. Manager never came out so we stood up and went to front desk. We asked for the manager again and were told that she was on the phone!! Must have been really important at 8:50pm. A lot of suppliers work late night I guess! Very disappointing experience.

Good luck getting service. Tried this place last week, it was okay, so we decided to try it on a Thursday at 4:00. Inside was empty, no hostess for quite a bit, she finally came out of the back of the restaurant and said we could sit outside or at a high top, the entire inside of normal tables were empty, but there was no server yet even though there were visible servers with their oh-so-clever t-shirts outside. Yeah, sit next to the road or on a bar stool, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Won 't be returning to this hip , but amateur restaurant.

Go for happy hour and take advantage of their specials. They have a great selection and you'll spend about half of what you would have any other time. I've never had a problem with service or the food any time I've been here and have never had to wait longer than a minute or so for a table. We used to go with this girl who hated sushi (go figure) and they even had more than enough menu selections for her picky appetite. I wouldn't consider this place ideal for families as there is a bar in the resturant and it can get a bit loud sometimes. All in all, one of my favorite sushi bars to patron.

Having sushi delivered tonight was going to be a treat but we were extremely disappointed. All three of our vegetable tempura rolls were missing the eel sauce. The rainbow roll was very small but tasted okay. The shrimp fried rice was supposed to be sized for two people but was only big enough for one person at best (small container that would have only half-filled a normal takeout carton. The rice had hard chewy clumps (over cooked? , the flavor was not pleasant, and the shrimp was just placed on top (not cooked with the rice . At more than $80 (delivered , this meal was a disaster and a waste of money.

Very pleasant experience. I ate at the bar and the service was good. Food came out in a timely manner and was quite delicious! Overall vibe and plating was good as well. My only complaint would perhaps be the price, felt a little on the pricier end for some reason despite it being a good experience. But I wasn’t unsatisfied either! I would suggest going at least once!
