Bidrage med feedbackUltimately, it's a business. do not look for a restaurant or caffe, it sells to most things, and not even to sit the shadow of a chair. I suppose you could sit on the floor. they sell traditional sweet bakers, but they are nothing to write home. the most important two things they sell are king congs and biscochos. the queen congs are like jacobs cracker, which rethink with overly sweeter paste. it dresses the mouth and is very dry. the biscochos are like bad quality brioche without crème terraces, and also very dry, so the plentiful amounts of butter need to be close to edible. hard pass.
When they tell a Peruvian friend, they will go to trujillo, they will ask them to get a sweetness like baked by the king cong. it is like a huge alfajor, but different and there are different types with different supplements of majarblanco, pecans,...pineapples tastes very good. chiclayo and other cities on the north coast have their version. they will try it here for free. I kind of liked it. on the hiking road since
Ultimately, it's a shop. Don't go looking for a restaurant or even a café, it sells at the most 4 things, and not even the shadow of a chair to sit on. I suppose you could sit on the floor. They sell "traditional" sweet bakes, but they're nothing to write home about. The main two things they sell are King Kongs and Biscochos. The king kongs are like Jacob's crackers sandwiched with think overly sweet paste. It both coats your mouth, and is very dry. The biscochos are like poor quality brioche with no crème patisière, and also very dry, so needs copious amounts of butter to be close to edible. Hard pass.
If you tell a Peruvian friend you are going to Trujillo they will ask you to get them a candy like pastry called King Kong. It's kind of like a giant alfajor but different and there are various kinds with different additions from majarblanco, pecans, pineapples. Tastes very good. Chiclayo and other cities on the north coast have their version. They will let you try it here for free. I kind of liked it. On the walking street since 1925.
