Tatu Tacos Tequila - Troy

I was in absolute awe as soon as I walked in the doors. What an incredibly unique and stunning atmosphere. I had the most amazing waiter (sorry friend.. I forgot your name) and the food… THE FOOOOD.. hands down the best guacamole

Trendy new Mexican restaurant in Downtown Troy, NY. Food is very good but not generic Mexican with a twist. Ample portions at reasonable prices. Decor is funky with lots of tattoo prints on display and a great bar area. A nice addition to the area. My beef tongue tacos were spicy, tender, delicious. We also shared very good guacamole, octopus skewers, and a chick pea arugula salad. Margaritas were also good.

I was visiting Troy from Atlanta, Georgia- and was very excited to try out the food in downtown. Tatu was our FAVORITE spot during the trip and we dined twice during our quick stay. The ambiance is unbelievably chic/unique with delicious food to boot! My favorite dishes were a corn salsa (I would eat this everyday if I could), the octopus appetizer (had this both nights), and the delicious trout. A close second was their vegetarian- Oh my goodness! So good! Our service was amazing- very attentive staff and sweet. The bartenders were incredible and I had one of their signature cocktails, Purple Rain, and it was perfect. Great spot for food, drinks, and some cool photo ops in the restaurant!

We dined at the Saratoga location several times and frequently enjoyed their family style takeout during the pandemic. Visited the new spot in Troy on a Thursday. Hostess was great. Food was good. Sticking point was the other staff. It was slow for a Thursday evening and 6 7 staff members were milling around the bar. Shortly after arrival, they were all seated on the side of the bar facing us (at our table) for the majority of our meal. No customers at the bar, so just intent stares from them across a clear path. Felt uncomfortable and definitely deterred our enjoyment and the general ambiance that should accompany a place as unique as Tatu. The owner was around here and there, so I guess it's just how it goes there. Our table's waitstaff was fine albeit a little disengaged but, we were never left waiting. Not bad by any means but, it won't warrant the extra drive time for us. Probably great for locals.

It’s been a while since I post .so I’m back with a vengeance my first impression of this place very live!! Love the atmosphere the drinks were really good me and my wife had a great time here are some pics I will recommend it to anybody and if you in Troy NY Check this place out
