Nitty Gritty - Tromsoe

Overpriced and disappointing in a stylish venue. The meat was OK, but there was a very limited selection of the different types in smaller portions. It would have been an advantage if you could take a bit of everything instead of being limited to larger pieces. The price of drinks is one of the highest I have seen in Norway apart from specialty bars and microbreweries, where a 0.33 costs around NOK 120. The side dishes are more disappointing what they describe as fries are potato boats that have been deep fried for too long so that they burn. The glazed carrots are a single carrot, which is a steal in daylight with a price of NOK 80.

What a hidden gem. The cut of meat and quality of preparation were phenomenal, particularly given the perfectly reasonable prices. Had the duck breast, and it was amazing. Wait staff was very helpful in pairing wine with the meal. Great service, great chef, reasonable prices, fun decor. Can’t recommend highly enough. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We come for the grills, and we come back for everything else! The cocktails are excellent, the accompaniments are worth the visit (excellent beetroot, and the fries are good potato wedges), and the desserts amazed me (pudding for me, and chocolate cake for my colleagues).
