Sealand Bar Restaurant Maravanthe

This is a real speakeasy. The way to the beach seating is undocumented and through the kitchen. Plastic tables and chairs thrown together on the beach give it a rustic vibe, but it's an incredible experience to sit on a totally non commercial beach, amongst all the locals, while you sip on your drink and enjoy the best food. We ordered a crab Sukkha. It was absolutely mouthwatering and incredible. The amount of coconutty Sukkha masala was humongous, and so flavorsome. The crab itself was fresh, sweet and super juicy. Just a pain to bite your way through the shells and claws We also ordered a fresh water fish he called Kemberi, aka the red snapper. Super soft and buttery, this was another superb dish. To end we ordered a curd rice to use to mop up all the fabulous coconut Sukkha masala from the crabs. Even this curd rice was next level, garnished with a delicious portion of crunchy fried garlic, curry leaves and red chilli tadka.
