Bidrage med feedbackMy man and I are new in the opposite. so we began to explore the various restaurants in the environment. hands down our favorite restaurant is schaf bach lodge restaurant, only north of weide. we found the owner to be personal and above all eating warm and welcoming. So, keep them on the way to denali for a wonderful meal. we have really found comfort in the hut. Thank you.
Stayed there twice, both times cabin smelled like diesel and had to have the window open. Bartender refused to help me while I waited to check into my room first she ignored me, then when she had helped everyone else and couldn 't ignore me any longer, she asked what I needed and I said to check into my room. She turned and walked away into the kitchen without another word. The waitstaff finally checked me in. Then I got stuck on their road into the cabins because it hadn 't been plowed, and apparently they had a race a few days before which turned the roads into a sheet of ice, and then a couple of wet inches of snow fell on top of that. I requested some gravel, and the response I got was We don 't gravel here. The bartender refused to contact the owner to ask for gravel. The wait staff asked some guys who were just getting done eating to help me. I was in a 20 foot U Haul towing a vehicle trailer, so this was very kind of them to tow me out of there with their truck. I will NEVER go to this place again. Cabins don 't have basic amenities like garbage cans and lamps next to the beds the switch is near the doors so you have to cross the room in the dark to get to the beds.
This used to be my favorite stop on the Parks highway but the food quality has seriously declined. Their cheeseburgers were amazing but now the entire dish is just “so so” and nothing special. The French fries are now store bought frozen fries whereas before they were hand cut shoestring fries and amazing. The burger itself used to be twice as big, was fully seasoned, juicy, and the bun was freshly made. Now the patty is small, there’s no seasoning, the bun is standard Sysco fare, which was also a little old, and surprisingly soggy, especially since the burger was over cooked. I don’t know if the owners changed or what but this is not the sheep creek lodge of the past. Sheep creek used to have amazing food and now it’s just re-heated Sysco food, and absolutely no reason to stop. Too bad, it used to be my go-to when I drove the Parks. The service was also sub-par this time around. Getting a refill was darn near impossible and the waitress seemed inconvenienced the whole time. Service: 2
