Bidrage med feedbackWe had a great dinner here while visiting in late September. Be sure to make a reservation a couple days ahead of time even outside of peak season as they did fill, and were turning away anyone without reservations. We had a table with a nice view of the harbor and enjoyed a calamari starter. The calamari was tender and lightly breaded. The sauce that accompanied it was wonderful and much nicer than the typical marinara. I want to say it mentioned sherbet in the sauce, and that is consistent with how it tasted. I know it sounds unusual but it was excellent. They have a nice assortment of local beers and cider and a nice variety of wine and cocktails. For my entree, I had the turbot special which was delicious. The fish was fresh and sweet and the sauce and vegetables accompanying it all complimented it nicely. Each entree also came with a side of vegetables which was much appreciated! For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was wonderful. They were very short staffed with what appeared to be just two servers working the entire restaurant and handling the host stand. They were moving as fast as possible, but understandably, service was somewhat slow because two people can only handle so much. Relax, enjoy the view, and don't worry if it takes a bit to get a dessert order in or get the check at the end.
The location is great with a pier view. The service was warm, attentive and pleasant. Food was okay; I noticed the high ratings, but unfortunately I can't agree. Maybe it's a 4.5* or 5* for the Dingle Peninsula, but in the bigger scheme of things, it's more like 3-3.5*. The prices were on the higher end. We ordered: 4*Tender Calamari Rings in a Salt and Pepper Panko with tangy lemon sherbet mayo: very tender, calamari lightly fried, pretty good. 3*Duo of monkfish scallops and garden greens: fish was overcooked and a bit hard to chew. 3*Wild Atlantic Seafood Platter- famous Signature Dish of Dingle Bay Seafood Chowder, Crab Claws, Tender Calamari, Freshly steamed Cromane Mussels, Scallop, Beer Battered Fish, all served on a large platter with Homemade Stout Bread and chips and added half Lobster. The best was beer battered fish which was tender and crispy. Calamari was tender and good, too. The lobster was not fresh and overcooked, and the crab claws and the mussels were soaked in buttery sauce.
Yum! We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around. The food was very good, we had the oysters and their vinaigrette was delicious! I had the muscles, the brine was amazing! Super garlicky and the muscles fell right off the shells. My fiancé had their platter their prawns were delicious and their crab craws were delicious! Overall definitely recommend going here!
My favourite restaurant in dingle! discovered it with friends and then came back on my own. service is excellent and the food is delicious. I really like their bright spacious place with big picture windows. a local taxi driver told me it's his favourite too...and he grew up in dingle!
Amazing fish and chips! And they were gluten free. Very clean with cute decor. Right across from the bay. If I lived in Ireland...I'd definitely be going back!!!
