Bidrage med feedbackTurkish cuisine like Iranian food is best if the simplest. meat, rice, good brot and finally good company. olives and figs near the old spitalfields market offers all this and with its covered vibe in the form of its bring your own alcohol, they can enjoy a cheap fun evening. as a large group the people chose separate what they wanted, so there was no mix and adjustment. I ordered however the cold meze for two that I ordered with laura and many of the other couples the same or the hot meze. where we had humus, taramasalata, tabouleh and other favorites, the hot meze was lit, ripen, halloumi, falafel and a bit more. so all usual favorites and all under £6....read more
This a Turkish byob restaurant on a small street called artillery passage (there is a chance that they can get lost! . small restaurant (although has an upper floor and a basement so likely to book best. we had divided hot and cold meze stars very small plates, so we had 4 between 5 of us. the main thing are decent portions and come with rice and salat most to £9 10 each. with a cork fee of £3 per bottle, appetizer and net, the bill came to a rather modest £80. they also offer a 10% discount on their website the minute. I still prefer adiva on commercial road when they go for a Turkish byob but!
It is quite difficult to find good Turkish cuisine in the city, but olives and figs are worth trying. his byob and relatiw small, so be sure to book a table or arrive early. I've been here several times and I have to recommend the lammschurken. extremely succulent with sharp spices, is enough to satisfy me for a whole day. they even do warm brot with dives to begin; a rareness for most places close. prices and shares are reasonable as the net costs about 10 per head. I'm back because they never managed to impress!
My friend was in the city and because it was that an unpleasant time just before the payment day, she had three criteria: cheap eating in full, byob and in the city. I was not in the mood for curry, so olive and figs seemed ideal. the flight of the friend was delayed and the restaurant was happy when I called 6.30 clock to ask for our 7 clock booking for 8 people to be postponed to 8 clock. the corkage costs £3, as the restaurant now actually has a license (and to be honest, the flaky wein are just about £13 per, so if they can not be harassed to sainsbury’s to go the corner not disturb. they then have to spend another £8 that is quite fair, but actually a bit of a task...read more
All that came on the hot mezze platter astonishing value at £5.95. The lovely, thick sausage was a joy too, but nothing to the mouthwatering spinach and feta parcels that we dipped into a chilli oil and dreamt of platefuls of the bastards.
