Teacapan - Torreon

...did you see the travel alert security and security on the top of the page warning about narcotic similar incidents in Coahuila? Teacapan is a LOW scaling, no chic restaurant or something nearby. It seems as if most people do work in the drug industry if you know what I mean. I wouldn't go there with my family. There is really no sense to check the food if you're eating there worried about a drive by shooting during your meal. Let us say this place, if not for the weak heart!

Four of us go to another restaurant once a month to eat our way over Torreón. Teacapan is our 20th, and it is in the top five together with Garufa, Koto, Oriental Grill and Tony Roma.... The environment is unusual because it is located in a converted house in a residential area quite far from the “beatenpath”. I learned about it because a friend is the main waiter. We started with large shrimp cocktails and ended with ice cream and cheesecake. In between we had six seafood dishes that we shared so that everyone got something from everything. We had two fish dishes and four shrimps. Salmon baked with herbs Veracruzano Filet Shrimp mojo de ajo (garlic) Shrimp al coco (coated with coconut) Shrimp diabla (in a spicy sauce) Shrimp tocineta (packed in bacon) All dishes contain Rive and either salad or vegetables. On our way home we chose salmon and bacon shrimp as the best dishes. The garlic shrimps and the Veracruzano do not impress us. I really liked the Diablo sauce as a sop for garlic bread. I never had coconut-crossed shrimp with a coconut milk-dipping sauce. Very good. This is now our popular seafood place. Acabo de ir el domingo después de estar enfermo el día sábado a recuperarme con caldo mixto de camarón y pescado muy delicioso, y un taquito gobernador con un sazón riquísimo, el platillo de mi novia tocineta muy bien servido y delicioso al igual que el arroz que lo acompañaba, solo un inconveniente que me parece que puede mejorar el aderezo de loa camarones deberían de preguntar si lo quiere el cliente ya que es muy dulce y en el tercer camarón ya se lo estas quitando, esta rico pero preferible que pregunten si lo quieren o hacerlo más picoso, el servicio del mesero muy bueno, el bar-tender preparo unas excelentes clamacheve y michelada, en general recomendable para ir a comer.

Pedi un coctel de camaron y le pusieron pura salsa catsup, los camarones y el pulpo no saben a nada. Pedimos un caldo de camaron, estaba bien asqueroso.Eso si, los meseros muy amables y platicadores.

Actually, it seems most of the people eating work in the "narcotic" industry, if you know what I mean.I wouldn't go there with my family. There's really no point in reviewing the food when you're eating there worried about a drive by shooting occurring during your meal. Let's say this place if not for the faint of heart!
