Bidrage med feedbackLove this family owned uni place. I live in NoCal but make sure that i pay this place a visit every time that I’m in the area. Nothing in the Bay Area can beat the Torrance area when it comes to authentic Japanese food. Any type of uni variety you can think of. I love the Gozen, and get it every time. BUT the uni spaghetti is definitely a MUST try! So creamyunilicious. Please check this place out and keep this place going for as long as we live
Their Saturday's sushi is the best. Friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. Reasonable price for the quality we received. It is highly recommended for special occasions.
Good place for UNI! Many iterations of uni. Highly recommended if you love all things uni. The other sushi was mostly okay. If you are not a fan of uni there would not be much for you here. The presentation also excelled!
Maruhide used to be the perfect place for sashimi and uni, and I'll come down from SF just to come here, but I'm considering to come less since their menu changed and price went up after they reopened. I had the Uni Pasta combo this is probably the best meal we had along other food we ordered. It came with salad and an extra Uni plate. It was fulfilling my craving for Uni. Uni was fresh and sweet. The pasta was really delicious as well. It was perfect and worth the trip. However, my parents got the Uni, Ikura, crab and scallop combo ..... the rice was not sushi rice but regular rice, it didn't cook well and hard for my parents to digest. The meal wasn't any special but a large bowl of rice with thin slices of crabs, some ikura and some Uni. Too expensive and not worth it. We also got the wagyu combo and my brother said it was just okay and it wasn't like our previous experience here, which Maruhide used to have really good combos with big sashimi bowl with sushi rice, uni and ikura, and it was always unbeatable. Overall tips: come to this place expect getting $40 more per person, get sashimi and Uni then any of their rice set. Remember to make reservation before you come. I will probably come visit again only for special occasions, but yes still recommend to anyone who loves Uni to support this place!
To be clear: I do not like to eat uni, so I was reluctantly dragged here. The Uni fan said it was great, but I got the chef's selection of nigiri. Everything was amazing, and I even got to sit at the bar and get personally briefed by the chef for each course.
