South St. Burger Co - Toronto

We were looking for another restaurant in the area, but stumbled across this place first and so decided to try it out. Very quiet (customer wise) for a late Wednesday afternoon, but found a corner away from the loud music. Good selection of burgers, interesting array of toppings, fries very good, all in all a good experience...and relatively cheap.

Great service, not overpriced, awesome burgers, fresh fries, plenty of topping choices, a must for a quick bite at a reasonable price, nothing microwaved,,, just freshly cooked.

Nice to pick the fillings for a burger as personal preference. Fresh vegetable and well-cooked patty were nice. Strawberry smoothie was also good.

The food and service was excellent.I had just the quarter pounder on its own without the meal, but got a number of toppings. The service was quick and the assembly of the burger was on point (the person put a lot of care into making sure all the toppings were packed in well). The burger was also delicious and cooked to excellence. The only issue is that they charge extra for mushrooms, pineapple, and cheese ($1.50 for each). Overall, I highly recommend if you're looking for a good quick bite that is relatively inexpensive.

We visited here twice in a week last week while on holiday, we have eaten at this location before 2 or 3 times on a previous holiday to Toronto.Visit number one for this holiday I went for the True North Burger again as a combo meal, it was good but sadly not as great as I recall from our last visit on a previous holiday.Visit number two again I went for the true north, the burger wasn't that great it was somewhat dry and a bit burnt over cooked might be down to the cook / chef.Not sure what's happened as this used to be our go to place when we first arrive at our hotel after flying in as its just around the corner, its just not the same as before like something is a miss now new staff? new owners? new recipes? as both trips this time just didn't live up to past standards that we recall.When we are over again next year it probably wont be on the list to eat at again sadly.Service was good though and its a bit pricey by the time you make everything a combo etc. like $30+ for two combos take out!?!?
