Like water from the tap or Friday after Thursday, everyone just expects a breakfast to be OK. However, breakfast at the Senator is beyond OK... it's oh my GAWD wonderful. We were a group of five and everyone ordered something different, but everyone was more than pleased. And to boot, the service was 5-star and the setting felt like being allowed into a museum (in a good way) or being an extra in a costume drama. 10/10 would eat there again... and again... and again...

Tasty food and pleasant wait staff complete the historic diner experience. Choose a booth or sit at the counter to enjoy this Toronto institution. Very reasonably priced for good food. The Senator Restaurant will be on my list for my next Toronto visit.

If you enjoy breakfast, the Senator is the place to go. It's classic diner style decor, very friendly service, and delicious American breakfast food make this Toronto restaurant my top downtown pick.Because I arrived at 10:30 on a Thursday morning, I was seated quickly in a booth. I ordered the fluffy french toast. My waitress was knowledgeable and friendly serving my wife, son, and me sooner than expected. I received not two, but three slices of dipped toast sliced diagonally to make six triangles. There was just enough cinnamon and batter to satisfy without trying to hard to impress. My coffee was perfect and my wife enjoyed her omelette.Go here for breakfast, not for brunch.

Great location and interior. Very diner like in everything but the price. Expensive. Food was tasty and service was good too. Highly recommended.
