SARA - Toronto

This was our first visit to the restaurant and the food was exceptional, but the dishes took a long time to arrive. The menu was very innovative and the food was delicious. However, the wine selection was limited and the choices by the glass were not appealing. The service was inconsistent, despite our server's efforts to make up for it. It was disappointing to experience such spotty service at a restaurant with a high rating. The restaurant was crowded, so it seems like others didn't mind as much. Personally, I would not return as there are many other dining options available.

A wonderful experience was had on my recent visit. I did the Tasting Menu and was full by the end and enjoyed every dish. It is definitely worth a visit.

We went with the menu tasting and every single dish was outstanding. Highlights were the latkes and the reuben sandwich

I found the meals at SARA quite good. It's a diverse journey through many types of cuisine and I think the team does a good job of elevating some typical restaurant fare with finesse and creativity. I was very fond of the latkes, the chopped salad, and the fried chicken was remarkably juicy (though I do think it could be crisper). The profiterole was a nice and nutty dessert with a hint of savouriness, which I liked. For the price of a Wednesday tasting menu, you can't get value like this in Toronto. I thought the service was unusually slow however. I was left waiting 20-30 minutes for dishes to be cleared, and the staff don't seem too attentive or aware when things need to be taken away. That is my biggest black mark on what was otherwise a solid meal.

It was a ann enjoyable experience, was my 3rd time, and service was at 100% each time. Both, my girlfriend and I, enjoyed the quality of food, the taste and the service. Will go back,(which does not happen too often)
