Bidrage med feedbackWe really enjoy our lunch here if you are not in a rush , and can wait around 30 min for your order, drinking tea listening to the nice music and having a nice chat , that is the perfect place for you place feel...like Japanese home, stuff was really friendly and polite and food was really tasty I would say definitely worth to wait for
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy but very small with about 8 to 10 tables. The serviice was sub-par as each of our dishes came out at separate times for our table of seven as we waited an hour for our food. The food...was delicious but be prepared to wait for a long time for your order.
Small restaurant, it's not fancy at all but the service is excellent and sushis are delicious! The price is good for the quality but it's not super cheap.
The sushi and sashimi are ok at this place. The salmon is lean and the portions are good. This is a small place with seating for about 20 people and while the quality of the food may be ok, the interior, other than a view...onto Dundas Street, is of a messy interior and a kitchen that looks like its operating out of a trailer park. In many ways, this is truly authentic with many of the restaurants in Japan, but this is Dundas and University and Salmon Lovers is ready for a renovation or at least some order in the kitchen and some new menus. The current menus are layered with food and drink stains and kind of disgusting.Maybe its time for tablets. Might be better for takeout as patrons of this place probably already know.
I discovered this small Japanese restaurant by chance as I came west on Dundas from the subway at University. I was looking for the Consolato Italiano on Belvedere.further west. I found it twice. So on my return I have walked in this place three times...during the past year or so looking for information about the type of salmon fish is served. A young man greeted me at the door in the afternoon after I came out of the AGO. I was told that they serve farm salmon instead of wild salmon. I found the place empty of customers but the young man was courteous to me when he answered my questions. I looked at a menu and took with me a take home menu. Prices are high. But this is to be expected in this expensive city. I found it to be a sushi place operated by people who promote a Japanese restaurant. Food was not bad as I had small amount for a sample. Salmon cooked was farmed but i did enjoy eating it. I am wary of eating uncooked sushi. I am concerned with eating salmon farmed in a farm for salmon. Wild salmon is better. This was my first chance to explore the menu. This restaurant is a small casual quiet restaurant located across from the AGO on Dundas and this position places it in a most convenient location that appears to be safe for visitors to handle. Food was made to order and it took time for me to eat it. I do recommend it for you to visit. If you like sushi then you should sample the food. So many of these ethnic restaurants in Toronto are in need of more customers. This is one of them. It can be a worth while place to spend time and eat if the visit to the AGO was part of a large tour of people. The AGO visit can be on crowded noisy days for sure. Yes, I wondered how this place stays in business. Its menu is different and attractive for those people who like certain sea food and sushi or salmon. But there is more on the menu than these items. I found it to be relaxing and worth my time. Certain ethnic authenticity was there but you had to define it carefully. Maybe more Japanese than anything else. Go there for the food and you will not be disappointed. I will return. This small place is not an extravagant place at all. Quite modest if you think about it. I will return later.
