Quanto Basta - Toronto

This is a neighbourhood local that everyone should have. It is small, usually crowded and can get noisy but the food and service are good. There is also a nice wine list. Weekends in the summer are quiet so it is the perfect time to go. There are always several specials that are always good. I had an amazing seafood risotto which had shrimp, scallops and a whole Nova Scotia Lobster tail on top.

Great food and staff can be a little forward at times but overall I love the place. Specially on Sunday's as free corkage but one bottle for two people only. Homemade real great Italian food

We had lunch in this pleasant Rosedale Italian restaurant. It attracted a mixed crowd: business people and friends. The home made soup of the day was an ample portion, vegetarian, dairy-free and light. We also had a few large salads: grilled chicken and tuna with lots of healthy ingredients. The secret to their salad dressing is white vinegar - so the flavour of the salad is not drowned with dressing. A very light, flavourful lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Great coffee, too!

Most restaurants can't do fish well. It's isually dry and/or rubbery. Not so at Quanto Basta! The branzino was cooked just enough to be moist and flaky; the skin, though, was crisp and marked with appetizing grill marks. The entire dish was seasoned perfectly and served up as quickly as expected. All in all a very satisfying lunch and worrh a repeat visit.

The food was good, wine list decent and the atmosphere charming. The night started off to a good start but unfortunately once our original waiter ended his shift and another server took over, the evening went downhill and left a bad taste. Needless to say, I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend based on the latter part of the evening.
