Noorden Food Bar - Toronto

I find it amusing that during my trip to the Netherlands, I didn't have the opportunity to try typical Dutch cuisine, until I dined at Noorden.

distinct vibes. The food was good but not as mind-blowing as I had hoped. The service was friendly and attentive, which was a plus. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, just not as exceptional as I had anticipated.

I finally found the time to write a review for this restaurant. I went to a media event with a friend and had the opportunity to sample some drinks and dishes.

For a group of 6 or more, Noorden will do a traditional Dutch/Indonesian rijstaffel dinner (a host of small tapas-sized plates). We were a group of 10 and everyone agreed that it was one of the most fun and interesting meals we have ever had...lots of chatter and socializing as you share the plates. The food itself was creative and delicious. The service superb. Congratulations to Michael and Jennifer. And a great, interesting regular menu. Look up rijsttafel on Wikipedia.

Aesthetically, the restaurant is visually-pleasing. Service was friendly and excellent from the moment we were seated. All dishes sampled were delicious. Highlights: steelhead trout, steak tartare and the grilled white cabbage. LOVE the varied selection of infused gins. G
