Karbouzi Bar & Grill - Toronto

We went here with my adult son and his family (pregnant partner and four year old) and a friend. He had been before and rightly identified it as an exceptional spot for amazing Greek food. The staff moved tables to accommodate our party of six...and got a drink order in quickly. And then we waited. The place was initially busy, but the crowd thinned fairly quickly and no new customers arrived after us. The server eventually appeared after twenty minutes to take our order. They were accommodating again and even made a special glass of chocolate milk for the little one. Our orders were straight forward and went to the kitchen. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. No one came to see us, aside from freshening water and bringing some bread and nothing was said about an exceptional circumstance that might keep us sitting for nearly an hour before food arrived. We had exactly one conversation with our server, which included an off hand comment about how they had almost forgotten what we ordered, it had been such a long time ago. The food finally arrived (yes, it was good) and we ate. The server made the one visit they should (but we had already moved long past the first bites stage) and again, no explanation was offered, no apology or offer to compensate in any way for what was a overly long wait by any reasonable standard (amplify this by a factor of ten when small children are involved, although ours was extremely patient I had to go and ask for a bill at the end. This is really unacceptable in a restaurant that has been here a while, clearly knows its business and gets many customers. I wouldn't go back, even though the food was really good. We ate here after coming to Toronto to visit after news of a friends passing. We ate dinner here and it was Delicious!! We had never been here before and we live in KW but I loved every bite !

Extremely slow service, overpriced for the quality of the food which I would describe as between bad and terrible, should have listened to the very negative reviews.

My wife and frequent this restaurant very often. We find the cuisine to be authentic (we spent several weeks in Greece last year) and the staff quite friendly and welcoming. The large combo hot appetizer platter in particular is outstanding. Highly recommend.

On a fairly busy Saturday night, there is only one server and she was literally run off her feet. Serving customers inside and out and bussing the tables and manning the bar, it’s not reasonable to expect one person to do all that. The food...is good and portions are large, but this is a person job, especially on weekends.
