Bidrage med feedbackThis place always looked pretty packed when we came by, so my partner and I decided to check it. the dinge started great. we wanted to wait for a table instead of sitting on the bar or the group table, but after. a few minutes the server said he would give us only a bigger table for us since the busy period has slowed down. very nice. then I was thrilled to see all vegan options on the menu. really interesting things. I ordered the Brussel-Spieß-Tempura and the Vegetable-Ramen. they had some more fascinating looking vegan rugs with a lot of clean ingredients, but they did not seem to have a lot of actual vegetables in them, and they contained a lot of tofu (soy,) so if they were a vegan who wants a lot of real sweet and not much soy, they are limited to something quite ho hum. at the end of the day, I would say that while it is fantastic that they have a great vegan menu, they have not really perfected the art of taste vegan food. the brussel sprout tempura was as good as any tempura but very salty. if they wanted to develop the taste beyond that of fried brusselsprossen, a small creativity could have gone a long way. just as the herbal nude soup was pretty as I said, ho hum. I have made more tasteful vegan broth with recipes that I found on the internet and it didn’t seem much to think put in the combo of veggies. there was a super thick piece of asparagus that was not even cooked enough to be edible and when we got the food, the service seemed to be wiped. my friend would have taken her on offer to order a second round noodles when they showed up on our table before she finished her broth, but she did not. and we waited for our bill. all in all it was a decent experience, and we could go back, but we would probably first try some other places.
Some creative appetizers and good, warming ritters. no problem for vegan companions to find food. allow me to work faster.
I have tried a few Ramen bars in Toronto (and Burnaby) and so far Jinya is my favourite. Not that the other ones are not good but overall Jinya is my always Ramen bar to go. Good quality ingredients, tasty and well-balanced broth, cleanness, great...service, and friendly staff are the main reasons. Once I ordered avocado salmon salad and after 10 minutes the server told me that they ran out of salmon. He apologized and offered 50% discount on anything I order. Great attitude!
Plenty of selections and add-ons. I had a happy hour small-plate bun that was fantastic! I was hungry and for $2 added more ramen. Nice and filling. Definitely recommended.
Although the place was hopping, we were seated quickly and got our drinks right away. Nice selection of beers! Good variety of menu options and we had the most tasty appetizers as well as ramen. The servers are quick and attentive. We highly recommend this...place any day of the week for solos, couples or small groups.
