Bidrage med feedbackAlthough this restaurant is called Ramen, they do not offer Japanese ramens, so do not get confused. It is Lanzhou style (northwest of China). Eating was generally okay. The part was not that big, although the price looks pretty cheap. Sliced noodles with vegetables with spicy sauce...was a kind of gland. Hand-puded rams with beef flavor better. Dry-Fried green bean was the one we expected like Sichuan style. The cold dish is the objects worth trying. Do not expect customer service here, although the staff expected good tips by asking us how to eat when we had to pay the bill.
This place is on Spadina Ave just south of Dundas Ave and easy to miss if you are not looking for its signage in the middle of the street signs along Spadina's Chinatown. The service is fast and efficient, although the waiting staff may not be very... controversial in English and seem to be bound to rest. Nevertheless, the menu is self-explanatory and everything you need to do is point when it must be. The Ramen combinations are somewhat eclectic if you only had Japanese style wheels before. The noodles are in a selection of widths and species with a variety of ingredient combos in the broth. Prices are average $10 and very good value, i.e. You will be satisfied with a full stomach.
It has really hard to find decent Asian food in many of the USA, so stay with me. The fresh noodles are the point of sale and they are really good. The braided oxen had a big broth. The hot and acidic ramen was tasteful, but I expected more hot spices. The surprise hit was the Enoki mushroom salad. Many garlic, a beautiful dress and plentiful. The spring rolls are small but crispy, hot served and not greasy. Bottom line, the Rarm is good portions, good quality overall and good prices.
My first visit to homemade ramen was fine, although the food was nothing special. I said in my review that yes, the noodles were homemade, and even directly in the restaurant in full view. I used to want to take a hot soup and decided to eat something in this restaurant. Unfortunately, the staff who spoke good Chinese could not understand hot soup in Chinese or English. Well, obviously they didn't serve it. The big man even looked at me as if I had two heads, and as if he had never heard of hot soup. I order a rice dish with meat and celery. Again it was nothing special with meat slices in brown engraving, cut celery, red pepper and rice. For this reason, my reviews of homemade ramen remain the same as my first visit: AVERAGE. However, I am simply surprised why a Chinese restaurant does not serve hot and sour soup or understand what it is when a customer asks for it. And the staff would also look at these customers as if they had two heads. Under these circumstances I quickly ate my food and paid the bill before any rodents would appear. This restaurant is famous in a building on Spadina Avenue for mice, rats and cockroaches. If a Chinese restaurant like homemade ramen knows nothing about hot soup, it is a place that I should avoid despite homemade noodles.
I am not a big Ramen eater but my wife and her family love Ramen so we ate here for dinner. I must say everyone loved their meal including me. I had the fried Ramen with beef and it was delicious. Very tasty sauce and...the bowl was huge. The even provide extra long chop sticks. My wife had the Raman with mushroom with sliced chicken. Other people in our party had the Jelly fish salad and sticky rice with mixed bean. Both were good. The Coors light was cold. Even though this was busy, we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Only $50.00 for food and drinks for a party of 5 people. Would definitely go back.
