Gordo Ex Cafe - Toronto

The restaurant is very cramped. Upon opening the door, you're hit with a strange odor that makes you want to leave. It's best to avoid ordering food here to save your money.

I haven't tried many Venezuelan dishes before, but this restaurant is really fantastic. We ordered some arepas and tostones. The arepas are massive and filled to the brim. They are very satisfying and delicious.

El Gordo-Ex has consistently maintained its reputation as the top spot for pan de jamón and tequeños, along with other authentic Venezuelan dishes in the Greater Toronto Area.

Nice to find an excellent and delicious Venezuelan food in Toronto. Friendly service, nice restaurant, good location. The Cachapas sweet and cheese choice, delicious crispy tequeños and the arepas purea pepiadas so perfect. Our next trip to Toronto will not miss this place.

Had a chicken empanada and a beef/ cheese arepa for take away. Good portion sizes, very filling arepa, hot, crispy deep fried empanada, speedy service. Not bad at all. May try other items if in the neighbourhood.
