Bidrage med feedbackDon't bother was a take out lunch with high expectations .we ordered 4 veal sandwiches and all 4 guys tossed them in the trash. 17+ bucks a sandwich what a waste !!!
This was probably the worst sandwich in the city. The veal, for $17 bucks, was a single thin dry piece with a couple of zucchinis on it; barely a full size sandwich. The vege sandwich had about 3 pieces of vegetables on it, and for $15 dollars that's ridiculous. The arugula salad had a fraction of the ingredients described on the menu, and was something I could have put together at home, in a rush. The Caesar Salad was the only thing that was half decent about this meal. This meal was $25/person, with the salad.Overall, terrible value and portion size, with a below average flavor profile. under no circumstances should anyone come here.
City Farm is all about sandwiches that are mouthwatering made from local ingredients farm fresh to table. Its pop up located right inside Modus Ristorante downtown Toronto in the business district. They opened up this genius concept in August to deal with the pandemic. The executive chef has created a menu of incredible sandwiches that are available for takeout and delivery. The sandwiches are crazy delicious like my fave the Beef Brisket that’s roasted for 7 hours on a high fibre soft bun baked in house. The Veal is a signature sandwich that’s so tasty and flavourful. There’s also grilled chicken and a loaded Grilled Veggie Sandwich. The service here is top notch!!For more food adventures follow me on Instagram @hungry.jo
We hear a lot about PIVOTING. I 'd like to say it is ADAPTING as in survival of the fittest. As in... It is not the fastest or strongest that survive but those most adaptable to change... or something like that. We are in trying times and businesses are looking to ride out this wave. It 's been longer than expected and what about the next one? We need to change. One new start up is City Farm Sandwiches. Their menu is simple and born out of a need to Pivot or Change. With the lockdown, Sam and his cohorts needed to give people in the Financial District something that they can have for lunch, as dining in at their amazing Modus Ristorante was a No No. So basically, it 's Let 's create the best possible take out experience, using the best farm fresh ingredients. I 'm sort of making up this quote call it writer 's privilege! LOL! So a sandwich company was born! I know, who the heck wants a sandwich? Something we brown bagged or carried in our plastic Superman Fortress of Solitude lunchbox (I never had one but I still have childhood regrets! LOL! . To answer your question, I will ask a question. Well... did you have one of City Farms creations? Breaded chicken, veal, brisket, grilled veggies they also have steak and sausage too! 6 delicious sandwiches. My personal fav? The brisket!!! I am now dabbing drool from my face and keyboard! A pile of 6 hour braised brisket with perfect City Farms Secret Sauce, on their in house made buns. Have one, have a food coma moment, and go get some more. I even liked the Grill Veggies yeah... I said it.. and NO, I 'm not going VegHead anytime soon! Anyway, I 've been doing a lot of running around town. Not because I have nothing better to do, but in the need to feed I want to get to as many small and local businesses. I want to tell people that these places are adapting to the challenge and they still need our support. If you are going to get lunch, why not get a good lunch! The Clown Food Bully does not need our Lunch Money!!! CHEERS!!!!
A friend brought a few of the sandwiches over today and I was blown away. It's easy to taste home made and carefully crafted ingredients. The buns are awesome and hold up the brisket and meat balls really well. Delicious, savory and clearly made with a view to a superior product. Try these guys you wont be dissapointed.
