Mar Rosso - Torino

We were here for a Friday dinner in their afro room with no footwear and no forks and knives! The food was Great, spicy but just right for our Indian tastebuds. The service was good and the staff was polite and spoke english. Will definitely visit again and try their desserts.

Advertised as African restaurant, Mar Rosso sits in the heart of San Salvario and can offer dishes from the traditional cuisine of the Horn of Africa. We dined in the African room where you'll be asked to take off your shoes and will be able to sit on the floor and eat without cutlery from a low table. The Eritrean dish we shared for example is supposed to be eaten with bare hands with the help of injera, a region-specific variety of sourdough bread. A more conventional dining room is also available and the waiting staff will help you navigate the menu if you're unfamiliar with anything. We had a very pleasant experience overall: definitely worth trying.

We visited in March 2015 and the food was so good. Really tasty. They also have wifi which is a great bonus. The down side (maybe not for all people) is the room where you eat on the floor. It can really give you cramps! Otherwise, excellent staff and excellent food! I will be back in April!

It was our very first time eating Eritrean food and it has been a very good one. We booked a table in a room where you eat with your hands, no cutlery, sitting on the floor and barefoot to enjoy a sensational deep experience that goes beyond a simple dinner. The food was delicious and the personnel kind and caring. I highly recommend this restaurant for a good dinner and a good experience.
