Intersection Restaurant - Toowoomba

We dined at the restaurant at the James St Motor Inn approximately six times during our stay. The food was incredible and always cooked to perfection. We enjoyed dishes such as steak, chicken carvings, fettersbonara, and calamari, all of which were delicious. The desserts were also a highlight. Overall, the restaurant is a hidden gem.

This restaurant is located at the James Street Motor Inn. While the decor suggests it may have been a Chinese restaurant in the past, the paintings now have a French theme. The menu was surprisingly extensive for a motel, and we started with the garlic bread ($6.00) which was delicious. I had the fettuccine with chicken ($24.50) which was accompanied by perfect beer-battered chips and vegetables. My partner ordered the fish ($19.50, with an extra $5.00 for chicken) and we both enjoyed the creamy herb sauce. We were very impressed with the entire meal, as well as the bottle of Jacob's Creek Chardonnay ($26.00). Our waiter Casey was excellent – attentive, professional, and not intrusive. Our server was attractive, amiable, and accommodating. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves for most of our visit. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari with stir-fried vegetables, while my companion had the chicken parmy. The pros were our server, the delicious food, and the very reasonable prices. However, the cons were that we had to wait for an hour for our meals, possibly due to being busy with room service orders. It seemed like only our server and one cook were working that evening. There was too much oil on my vegetables, and it spilled onto my plate. I suspect that I received frozen calamari instead of salt and pepper calamari. Additionally, there was ham instead of bacon on the chicken parmy. Despite these issues, I hope that the management takes this feedback constructively because I would be willing to give this restaurant another try.

Our meals were delicious, cheap and had an appropriate selection; even catering to my special diets. The staff were friendly, diligent and polite, so we enjoyed our time. Thank you to Lyn, Nicole and the chef, who all contributed...our pleasant culinary experience

The meals are huge and well priced. The service was great and the small cosy bar a perfect spot to unwind after a day at work
