Bidrage med feedbackIt is disappointing that the other location has closed, as I believe it is where we had the sandwiches that were delicious and fun to try (although a bit small for the price). Hopefully this location or other locations in Japan will offer new vegan options in the future. I have updated my previous rating on 2022-12-31.
The almond milk bubble tea is pretty good, but too expensive... even for the smallest size. You only have a almond milk option, no soy milk. They didn't seem to have a vegan food when I left.
I visited the restaurant and was informed that they do not offer any vegan food options, except for drinks that can be made with almond milk. I was disappointed to find out that the falafel pita was no longer available on their menu.
I came here and got a bubble tea and a slice of the cake. Was pretty shocked at how tiny the piece of cake was, and I didn’t find the bubble tea that appetising, so not the best experience ahah. It might be a nice place for a couple of friends to have something small and cute to eat and drink, but seating is also hard to find from what I’ve noticed on the few times I’ve been in and walked past.
I recently tried the chocolate vegan scone at this restaurant, which was more like a tasty brownie than a traditional scone. It was reasonably priced at 280 yen and was served warm, which was excellent. I also tried the strawberry, matcha, and another flavor of scones, but they were not warmed up. I highly recommend getting them warmed up, especially the matcha flavor which was too dense when cold. The staff mentioned they did not have any vegan drinks, despite having a menu of regular hot teas. I found this confusing as they could easily substitute almond milk in the drinks to make them non-dairy. I tried a hojicha boba tea with almond milk, which tasted artificial. Their hot caramel drink with almond milk was also undrinkable. I will try the soy milk next time as the almond milk was not good. Despite the disappointing drinks, I will return for more of their vegan scones. However, I prefer the selection of vegan sweets at the nearby Futaba Fruits Parlor. The location of Alfred Tea Room is convenient, near JR Shinjuku station. I enjoyed the Instagrammable pink interior decor. It can get busy on weekends, and seating may be limited.
