Bidrage med feedbackThis place is underrated for what it offers. Quiet, quaint, and a little quirky, this place has a great beer menu, delicious in-house baked sourdough bread, and their dishes are classics that generous portions yet are never too salty or heavy. German food may not sound exciting to some, but the quality of what they offer cannot be overstated. I’ve been here several times already and hope to be back soon.
Not quite true German cuisine. Sauerbraten not quite German. The last true German restaurant I believe was the Bavarian Inn in Cold Spring N. Y. Nice place to eat though. Comfortable ambit.
What a beautiful experience! From the moment we walked through the door until we walked out.I felt like we were invited into a friend 's house. Our server was not only friendly, but humorous. She explained any dish we weren 't familiar with and encouraged a wonderful meal.Beers were fresh and cold. Something we so appreciate this time of the year.I can 't even explain how wonderful the food was. Rich, tender, perfectly sauced and vegetables we tasty, as well.I have no doubt we 'll be back.
We can always find a reason to come here and enjoy delicious German cuisine! Tonight my husband and I dined and had the Jaegar Haus Sauerbraten and the Schweinshaxe (pork shank) We shared the Windbeutel dessert (German cream puffs) which was delicious and heavenly!!As always the presentation and delicious meal was scrumptious!! This restaurant is a hidden gem!! There is a small beer garden in the back..a great selection of German local beers plus an excellent wine selection.
So glad I found this place! It was perfect for a pre-show dinner for a concert we were seeing at nearby Bard College. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the food was top notch. :
