Karnes en su Jugo - Tijuana

Maybe. I was pampered by eating the famous Carnes en su Jugo dish in Guadalajara, but this place does not fit him. The restaurant itself is nicely furnished and the staff is friendly enough. However, when you come to dinner on a Thursday...night and the place is empty, which gives you some insight into what you are for. They offer you a summary for their signature dish that seems a little more than just water with meat juice and salt. The main dish is basically more of the same except with meat. There was really not much to this dish, and although they offer more options on the menu, if they can't get their signature dish right, I'm not optimistic about the rest of their menu. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll come back to this place because I wasn't too impressed by the food.

Pros: atmosphere Negative:: everything else a) seemingly good, but blatantly lied to us. I was told by a local person that I was trying her special thing the day. And they had a sign before advertising their day. But when I asked about it... our server has described in detail what was special, but said it was not available. When I pointed out to her sign (see attached picture) and said that it is available up to 4 o'clock weekdays and it was on Tuesday at 3 o'clock, our server still said it is not available. But then about 20 minutes later, the table (the locals) received the speciality of the restaurant and they sat about 10 minutes after us. When I asked the server why they could get him, he apologized... but didn't deny his discrimination and/or lie. (b) The bean rice supplements were served cold. c) the tortilla chips were stale. I mentioned this on the server. He apologized, said he would tell the boss. I'm not sure if he did this, because our experience was probably typical of them....but when he told the boss there was no feedback to us. So, after 800 pesos total for lunch, and I gave another 100 pesos tip (my habit to take care of the waiting staff, but in this case I regret my habit), we had one of the worst Mexican meals. The only comfort is that we didn't get sick.

Food is very good. The place feels like your step back in time. In a good way, I propose this place to anyone who visits Tijuana from anywhere in the world.

El servicio muy bueno, el jugo de carne exquisito, las aguas de sabor muy ricas, todo lo demás deja muchísimo que desear, yo ordené una tampiqueña tenía muchísima pimienta, el guacamole (como que un aguacate estaba a punto de pasarse), otro de los comensales comió una hamburguesa que tenía una pinta deliciosa y la verdad es que estaba bastante normal y de verdad se deberían pensar es cambiar el condimento de las papas porque no tiene buen sabor, diría que bastante desagradable, en fin tenía muchísimas ganas de que fuese un lugar que cumpliera mis expectativas y no lo fue.Otra de las cosas buenas a mencionar es el precio, la verdad muy razonable.

Buena opcion en zona rio, el menu es basicamente carne en su jugo y sus derivados como carne asada y otras opciones. Cerveza y vino. Es recomendable.
