Bidrage med feedbackFood was inedible. Service was slow and one member of staff particularly rude. Would not recommend. Don't waste your holiday money here. Most recent reviews reflect how terrible this restaurant has become.
I have visited this restraunt many times over the years on the island, although always thought it was called 'the plough '. Contrary to recent reviews we actually found the food to be tasty, as always i had the shoulder of lamb which was lovely. The service was a tad slow but always polite and professional.
EXTREMELY disapointing we ordered the most expensive wine on the list : 20 euro. A special wine of Lanzarote. Instead of 20 euro, they charge 29 euro. we said it while serving the wine NOT TRUE, the boss ? just served it !!! And on top of it, on ALL prices, mentioned on te menu, they charge 7 taxes extra. I have been to many restaurants, but never been croocked like this speciel treath : WE WILL CALL THE POLICE BEWARE OF El ARAO, you don 't want to be imposted, do you ?
This is hidden on a back street, so you would be forgiven for not knowing where it was. The food is excellent and staff professional and attentive. Good idea to book as they can be very busy. Would definitely recommend
Our visit to El Arao {The plough} The restaurant is one of the best I've been to and I've been to a lot.We visited twice already have booked for Sunday also as it is very busy. The restaurant is medium sized decorated tastefully. It has lovely big windows to the front where you can sit if you are in early to get one. All covid guidelines are followed and there is hand sanitizer at the door before you enter. The food is beautiful and well presented. Starters are very big and many might struggle to finish the mains as some of my friends did. {They wrapped it up for us to take home when this happened}. First visit was fillet steaks for all of us, cooked to perfection. Second visit was the special which was lamb shoulder.Omg if was amazing, juicy, tender, falling off the bone, cooked with scalloped potatoes and onions with Canarian potatoes and baby carrots on the side. All starters were to die for.Total for 3 starters,3 mains 3 beers 70e, half the price of eating out in Ireland!! The waiters are very friendly and take time to chat and explain anything you want to know. The restaurant is just off the strip {50mtrs} at Calle Frankfurt, look out for Apartamentos Maribel and you are there. 100% recommend, you won't be disappointed.
