Anyone having experienced fresh Gouda while in Holland, knows this local Thunder Bay treasure is the best alternative to a flight overseas! Their shipments across Canada have been a welcomed option when out of town and to send products to others as the perfect edible quality, gift. Their large, airy store is filled with wonderful favorites from the Netherlands as well as other small specialty retailers, making Thunder Oak Cheese Farm, part of a routine market stop rather than a place which is an occasional visit.

I have always liked their cheese products made on site. Lately, however, their cheeses are very dry and their quark tastes bitter. I have discontinued to buy their products and feel I am better off buying from the big stores in town. This is a pity, since I'd love to promote local businesses but not if they compromise with quality.

Wonderful cheese! Should have bought more. I love cheese curds and happy they sold crackers to go with it so we could snack right away. I wish at least one of the employees would have greeted us and offered to help. It's a small store but from the reviews I expected more from the customer service. The ladies were definitely working hard and friendly at the cash register. Just not outgoing.
