Bidrage med feedbackLocated in Thornhill, this restaurant has a great location. The food is delicious, especially when paired with their nice selection of sake. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the air circulation is poor.
Piggy's is a lively spot to sample Korean barbecue and hotpots, located just north of busy North York. The staff is welcoming and will help you get started with tableside cooking; the rest is self-serve, so you can enjoy your meat cooked to your liking. We often come here with friends from out of town, as it offers a more family-friendly atmosphere compared to Sariwon, the well-known Korean restaurant across the street. We also enjoy Cups, the neighboring Korean dessert spot next to Piggy's. K-pop enthusiasts will appreciate the autographed photos on the walls. For seniors on low-salt diets, they will appreciate that the beef steak and pork belly strips are not marinated. Miso and spicy sauces are served on the side for wrapping in lettuce leaves along with radish. The soups are flavorful and perfect for sharing—just let them know how many bowls you'll need. The oxtail soup is a good value and not too salty. Parking in front of the restaurant is free and accessible for all, including gluten-free options. Right now, Piggy's is offering a special deal on beef rib steak for shared grilling at $50. It's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant can get busy.
We visited quite a few times. I like all the varieties of different little appetizers dishes they give you to start your meal. Good portion size. good service. All in all nice Korean restaurant to visit.
Went there for dinner the first time and it was great. The meat was of good portion and the side dishes variety was good. The service was also better than expected. Overll, it was a good experience and would love to go visit again.
We came for a birthday celebration and tried many of the menu items. Grilling the meat to each person’s preference is great. The meats we barbequed looked fresh and were very tasty. They had more fat than I usually have, but this is consistent with the meats served at Korean BBQ restaurants, and the fat adds to the flavour. We also ordered Korean-style marinated beef, which is a premium cut, with much less fat. Our favourites include the pork belly, Korean-style marinated beef, sweet potato vermicelli noodles, and the stone pot bibimbob (Their variation of bibimbap). This was my first Korean BBQ in Canada. I’ve had many times in China, where I regularly go to a Korean BBQ restaurant. Missing here, are my favourite spicy rice cakes. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. On a Friday evening, we went without a reservation and had to wait 40 minutes. The food quality and taste were worth the wait. Next time, we’ll make reservations.
