Bidrage med feedbackLarge selection of wines! Very experienced waiter, who was well filtered, our wine, who might have some strange materials from the cork. All wines tasted great quality! The Risoto with mushroom was also of great taste! The place is beautifully decorated and should you learn a bit annoying about wines, there is a large collection of wine making related books to spend some time if you wish. Very recommended for food and wine tasting and definitely back!
This was a great evening, and although I was the only participant for private wine tasting (run every day... I have booked experiences about Airbnb, but you can book directly) on a cold Tuesday night, the team made me welcome. Since I was the only participant, tasting was made in the main bar, which I prefer as the other customers gave the room a beautiful atmosphere. The wine bar is a great place and the 8 wines served were generous for 24 euros. They are passionate about their entire Greek wine and great knowledge. Very recommended.
Indisputably the BEST wine bar in Thessaloniki, I conducted research. While I was in Thessaloniki, I visited 8 different wine bars for an upcoming article I write. I had a classification system to evaluate everyone objectively. Oinovate achieved the highest in all categories. Firstly, this is a real wine bar. It is not a cocktail lounge with a few wines on the glass, it is not a coffee shop with a few open wine bottles behind the bar, and it is not a full in the restaurant, it is a wine bar. For me, stemware is the first indication of whether the owners take wine seriously. It may seem trivial, but it is this kind of attention to detail that makes a great difference. While Oinovate has wine glasses every day, they also have reserve wine glasses that make me a literal happy dance. The wine list is extensive. If you are not familiar with Greek wine, and even if you are, there is a chance that you do not recognize many wines. Here Konstantinos, the owner, enters. Konstantinos is nothing but a Greek wine-savant. He bursts with knowledge and walked easily on foot with me on every wine on the list. He carefully selects the wine and has a story to tell for everyone. A great conversation and wonderful resource. The list has something for everyone. Oinovate has a secret weapon. They have set up a Coravin system (a way to extract a single glass of wine from a bottle and replace it with inert gas, so that the wine does not spoil) so that everything is offered by the glass at a reasonable price. That was excellent for me, because I don't often have the same wine taste as those I am with, and there was the opportunity to taste wines through the glass that are expensive if only offered by the bottle. The atmosphere is very beautiful. Music is not so loud that you cannot hear your friends and above all, SMOKING is NOT ALLOWED! If you spend time in Thessaloniki, you will quickly notice that you need to dry every item of clothing after entering most bars and restaurants. The internal smoking in Thessaloniki is excessive. Since Konstatinos respects its customers and respects wine, smoking is limited to the outside. This is such a big factor for me, especially if I had to leave 2 other wine bars because I could not see or smell anything through the smoke. There are meat and cheese plates and I think that more food will soon be available. Meat and cheese are carefully selected and of excellent quality. After visiting 8 other wine bars in Thessaloniki for 4 nights we came to Oinovate again and again. We enjoyed every visit immensely. I recommend 100% Oinovate to any lover of wine. We're coming back!
Constantinos is brilliant what he does and his knowledge about wines, especially Greek, is excellent. He made me very welcome in his wine bar, and gave me a very sensitive background about where and how his interest in wines began and why he felt that it is important for others to know. It is nice to know that there are still young entrepreneurs who actually care about the art that goes into their line of work instead of worrying about the money. Efcharisto, Constantinos!
Absolutely the best place to learn about local wine. The owner is a great guy and very patiently answered my questions, specifically about Xinomavro an interesting red from the north of the country that has caught my attention recently.
