Bidrage med feedbackHeard that Sydney got really nice afternoon tea. So after check-in at Shangri-La Hotel Sydney, we have had a cozy and relaxing afternoon tea at Lobby Lounge. We ordered the Traditional Afternoon Tea, the scones are really great! When added with clotted cream & jam, the taste is so similar to those in London. The savouries and pastries (The Matcha craze are must-try!) are all nice, and portion is much bigger than those in Hong Kong. We got so full after finished them all! Finally, the live piano performance was lovely. Recommended for afternoon tea lovers!
We had breakfast at the Lobby Lounge. It was pleasant and inexpensive. The area is nice and offers indoor and outdoor eating. Service was friendly and prompt. Definitely a good place to go and "hang".
Super excited to check out the firecracker from Anna Polyviou (featured on master chef). What a disappointing experience. We are at the hotel lobby lounge, which is quite nice and perfect for a coffee and an introduction into high end deserts. The coffees, long black and almond milk latte arrive and are nothing short of the 3rd worst coffee of my life. Number 1 and 2 involve incorrectly using Nescafé instant with a novice barista incorrectly using a coffee machine. (Nightmare stuff). Any way back to the firecracker. The fire work finally arrives at the table and the plan is to share this amazing desert. The firework it self includes a sparkler for added effect, seen on all the ads. We are promptly told by staff it will not be lit as it is a fire hazard. ARE THEY KIDDING, who advertised a Firecracker which you can not lite up. We are also told that we can if we choose take the firecracker outside and lite it yourself. What a disappointment!!
Tried this twice whilst I. The hotel once for cakes and a cup of tea and again for after dinner drinks, on both occasions the experience was woefulWe had missed the main choice of cakes and they seemed to be trying to close down that part of cafe - we gave up.Second time we ordered a flat white and an Irish Coffe - well the flat was drinkable, but the Irish coffee was probably the worst ever. It took a long time to appear was Luke warm and instead of cream floating on the top, the was a a dollop of shaving foam cream. It looked and tasted vile. - when pointing this out to staff they offered to reheat the whiskey ! No thank you!For this class of hotel their staff should know how to make a standard drink found all over the world
After check in I went there for a drink and found a place that had many great food opportunity and great cocktails made end to a great day
