Main Street Tap Grill

Had the unfortunate experience of spending time at MSTG last night. We won't be back. Stopped by with our cycling group for a mid point. We ride nice bikes through rough neighborhoods several nights per week so some of our riders wear legal knives in sheaths on there belts. The security guard approached them one by one and demanded the knives be removed and put in our bags then stood over us like a prison guard. We have been riding and bringing business to local bars with patios for years and have never been treated this way. No one has ever had an issue with it. Also, the outside bartenders were nice and hard working but the female bartender inside took 15 mins to serve my bf a beer even though there was no one at her bar. Felt shitty. Now that I read the other reviews and see that this is a dangerous place no wonder security was trippin. Too many awesome midpoints that love it when we roll in to care.

Really disappointed, overall bad experience. We arrived about 7pm and were the only ones there. We should have been warned by all of the orange city of Houston stickers on the front door for building without pulling permits The bartender looked visibly annoyed that we had arrived. It was supposed to be steak night according to their website, but we were told no steaks tonight. They also didn't have the beer I wanted (also listed on their website) in stock. The prices were higher than those listed on the website menu. The food was awful. The waitstaff were talking loudly, eating take out (from somewhere else), and vaping at the end of the bar. Just an unwelcoming, unfriendly feeling in an ugly bar with junk laying all around on the back counters. Clearly none of the staff or owners care about this place. We ended up getting the one drink each, choking down the bad nachos, and leaving asap. Just a terrible vibe. Never again. There are way better bars and restaurants all around that area.

Cute little bar and grill, hosts an annual Irish stew cook-off that was awesome! We ordered a few drinks and had the chicken tender basket with fries. Omg! It was big enough to share and so good. The seasoning on the fries is perfect. We will definitely be looking forward to next years cookoff!!

No service at table, only bar. Drinks were 11$ each full of ice. I spent over 100$ and barely got a buzz at all

Honestly.. Went here for the first time today, the bar was unavailable because the bartender called in and they were short staffed.. the manager didn't know how to make a mimosa carafe... unorganized. I feel bad for the guy but come on.. there was an event there and they were not prepared at all.
