I got hibachi chicken with fried rice and takoyaki. My bf got hibachi steak. We ordered takeout and it took them nearly 30 min to make it. Honestly I could have cooked chicken fried rice in that time. The chicken was bland, and the steak was dry as a desert. The fried rice didn't have much seasoning. The egg rolls and takoyaki were good, but I could tell they were the frozen kind. The good thing is the portions were big.
Been going to boxo for years and it’s amazing. However, they’ve raised the prices so much it’s insane. I used to pay around $15 for a combo hibachi meal now it’s up to $30… on top of that i had a takeout order found a long black hair in my food. Sadly this is the end of boxo hibachi for me:
Food is good, but I think it's ridiculous that we have to pay for water. Most restaurants at least can offer you tap.
The experience was average. If I hadn't been so hungry, I probably wouldn't have eaten as much as I did. I ordered the scallop and shrimp hibachi combo, while my wife went for the steak and shrimp hibachi combo. We also tried the California roll, New York roll, and fried oysters. Overall, the food was okay, but nothing really stood out. For me, the fried oysters were the highlight of the meal. While the sushi rolls looked great and had a decent taste, the rest of the dishes were somewhat bland. The steak and scallops had a bit of flavor, but you’ll likely need to dip everything in sauce to add some zest. The service, however, was friendly and prompt.
