Alfie's - Thanet

The portions of cod at this restaurant are very large and come with great chips. The prices are good and the value cannot be beat in Margate. I have no complaints about this place - it's the best value around. Just remember they only accept cash.

I have been a regular customer at this chip shop for many years. A few weeks ago, I ordered my usual meal of haddock, rock, and large chips. Unfortunately, it was mostly batter, which I assumed was a one-time occurrence. However, when I returned last night (Friday, March 17th) and ordered the same meal, my rock was okay but still heavily battered. My wife's haddock, on the other hand, was extremely overcooked, dry, and consisted of 75% batter with only a small amount of actual fish inside. We will not be returning to this establishment as it is disappointing to see the decline in quality. Sincerely, Dennis the Menace.

This family-owned traditional fish and chip takeaway is fantastic. The batter is incredibly crispy like tempura. The portion of chips is very generous. The service is lovely, and I felt like a regular even on my first visit. I have no complaints.

We have been using this Chippy for sometime now and cannot fault it. Definitely the best fish n chips in Thanet. Always fresh and hot.

Never disappointed! Alfie's does the best fish and chips, also lovely giant veg curry spring rolls. They are very busy as it is always fresh and hot.
