Fisherman Villa - Thalpitiya

We ate here twice and on our first visit the food and service was really good. Our second visit was on a very busy Friday night and we waited 1.5hrs for our food and when it did come there was only two of us got served and it was another 10mins before the other two got there food so it was disappointing. The waiter did apologise and we could see they were busy but when four people order food we expect to eat at the same time that said food was very nice.

Only if you like fish!! In fact that is all you will get. Its fresh, Caught in the morning usually, so what is on the menu depends what was caught. You can watch them bringing in the catch on the beach in the morning. Its simple fresh and either grilled which I would recommend with some local spices but not too hot!! or fried. We went into the kitchen to choose the fish. Had a grilled Coral fish between the two of us plus salad and chips. Beautiful!! All very laid back and very friendly. We were of interest to the staff however as I filleted the fish with a knife and fork while the locals do it with their fingers!! If you want wine,,,bring your own. They only have beer. No problem they will give you glasses ice bucket. As it is right next door to the Blue Waters Hotel you can walk it either via the beach or via the road from the front of the hotel. The cost is mid range for Sri Lanka but cheap against UK prices.

This restaurant is located on the beach with a reception hall. You can access the beach through the back entrance. The front yard is beautifully paved and there is a separate parking area located a short distance from the rooms. The halls are well-decorated with a pleasant interior. The food is delicious.

This is a beautiful venue to host your second day ceremonies. The food is amazing and the quality is excellent. I highly recommend it.

The restaurant is in a beautiful location across from the beach and just a few meters from Gallenstraße. The food is excellent.
