Great Sandy Bar & Reataurant - Tewantin

I have dined at this restaurant many times and have always been pleased with the quality and service. The prices are great and offer excellent value for money. It is a casual dining experience, perfect for sitting on the verandah and enjoying dinner. Just make sure to check the opening times, as they are limited to Fridays and weekends (with more hours during school holidays).

I initially had low expectations when my meal arrived just 2 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The chips were like cardboard and the chicken and fish had no flavor, indicating they were likely old. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

This bistro has to be the worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered the fish and chips for $25. The chips were soggy and oily, and the piece of fish looked like deep-fried batter with unknown substances inside. The salad was haphazardly thrown together. I would recommend going out and eating a crow boiled in order to avoid this place.

We booked in for dinner with a group of 13 friends including children for 730pm. Grand final Nrl night. We had our dinner, then at 825pm (before the end of game) the children went to go back on the jumping pillow only to be very disappointed it was deflated. Hubby went up to a staff member who was very arrogant and quickly advised it had malfunctioned so it was turned off. He asked to speak to the manager and this person told him he was the manager ( which we soon after found out he wasn't- he also gave a false name.-Stephen ) I then went up to another staff member and asked if they could please turn the jumping pillow back on he pointed me to the real manager Anthony. When asking him politely could we please get the jumping pillow put back on for the kids,.. He rudely replied no we are closing and have to be on the barge by 10pm. I said please the kids just want to have a play for 15-30 mins ... We have only been here since 730. He arrogantly replied they should've played on there while dinner was cooking like other kids. I replied yes they did briefly but could they please just have a little more playtime after dinner. He replied you've had all day to use it... I replied no we've been out enjoying water sports and surely if we make a booking for 730 on nrl final night - you should advise everything will be closing down by 830 when we booked. I told Anthony I did not like his staff or his arrogant attitude and said we wouldn't ever return again. As I walked off my son over hears him reply "if you want arrogance look in the mirror". I was extremely angry when my son told me this. As was my husband. Absolutely disgusted .... We will never spend another cent at this horrible place. I always write very good reviews when they are deserved but I believe in this case people need to hear the truth about disgusting venues that treat people like this.

Good value meals, quick service & great relaxed atmosphere. Cover giant jumping pillow keeps younger kids entertain & there is also a games room.
