The Essex Skipper - Tendring

I read the reviews for this restaurant before making a reservation, and although some weren’t great, I decided to give it a shot because I like to form my own opinion. I'm glad I did because this place truly deserves a positive review! My expectations were low, but they were definitely exceeded. It’s a charming family pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly, the food was excellent—well-priced, good portion sizes, and served hot and beautifully presented. It’s one of the few pubs that offers food throughout the day and it also has disabled access. A big thank you to Essex Skipper!

Incredible dining experience for the price of a takeaway sandwich! I’m so glad we chose this place for lunch instead of the local pretentious garden center café. The owner was very welcoming, and the lunch we ordered was exceptionally well cooked and beautifully presented for an amazing price of just £3.50 each! The restrooms were clean and had some thoughtful touches for anyone who might need them. We will definitely be coming back!

I had a fantastic evening with wonderful company. The band was outstanding, playing a diverse selection of songs that were all excellent. The atmosphere was enjoyable and lively. The staff were friendly and attentive, and there was hardly any wait for drinks throughout the night.

Absolutely fantastic, the meal was beautiful, the staff is amazing. warm, clean and welcoming atmosphere. can not wait to return, it will be our regular safe.

Food was lovely. Service was quick, simple and friendly. All that you would expect from your local, even managed to get in to take advantage of the 2 for £20 deal. Shame to see some customers expectations are ridiculous, but team handled the situation well.
