Seafood at Pier 46 is super fresh and delicious. Grilled fish is of course tender and tasteful. But also Ahi bowl and tacos are fantastic!! Went with my family for the first time because of the great reviews. The ciopino was quite good although I had quite few clams that’s didn’t open so I threw those out. Seems like they should be able to filter those out better. The calamari sandwiches and the grilled halibut were also nice. The lobster roll however was a huge disappointment, the flavor wasn’t good and there was very little content for the $32 price. I was a little freaked out that it’s a seafood place though and the “live” lobsters and crabs in the tanks looked in terrible conditions. They were barely moving, with some of those crabs being clearly dead or close to it with a really sad gray color. There’s also no easily accessible bathrooms, you have to go through the kitchen which is kind of weird so probably better to plan for takeout in the future. There was a bit thing with the guy who took our order where he added and extra lobster roll and soda to our order, which we didn’t originally notice. He was super hard to understand so when we handed us a soda cup, we kept trying to give it back saying we didn’t order it but he couldn’t explain that he had already charged us for it. Later when our food arrived, they tried to give us an extra lobster roll and only upon looking at the receipt did we realize the issue. It took some discussion but eventually we got a refund. One of the best restaurants in our county. A well known spot to locals and a must try if your traveling through.
