Varsity Tavern On Mill Ave - Tempe

We were not at all excited about this place. we went there to dinner before a show in asu gammage. If we know it was superbowl Sunday, we expected a loud restaurant, and we were ok with the noise level. the toilets of women were disgusting. it seemed that all toilet paper holders were broken, so that the paper rolls were either on the dirty floor or hanging on the purse hooks on the door. at all stands. we sat immediately (we had reservations.) we waited a few minutes before a server came to us. we ordered our food and waited 35 minutes before delivery. we had to go to show in time, so we asked to pay the bill when the waitress brought our food. immediately after she had left us, we realized that my chicken caesar salad was not correct - it was just a regular house salad. the server never came back to check us so it was impossible to complain about my order wrong. this is not a place to which we will return and we would definitely not recommend anyone.

The service was slow. good happy hour. taco dosday is a good dea.

We have booked opentable. the restaurant said they didn't use it anymore. we were brought to dirty tables and had to be restored. the menu was not what was online, as it restored the menu for the “live event” at this weekend. we are politely away. would not recommend this place.

We arrived for our party of 3 6 PM reservation and were told they were closed for a private event. I asked why they allowed a reservation to be made when they could not honor it and they told me it wasn’t their problem, take it up with Open Table. I will NOT return. Rude staff.

Knowing it was Super Bowl Sunday, we expected a noisy atmosphere and were fine with that. However, the women's restrooms were in terrible condition. All the toilet paper dispensers were broken, so the rolls were either on the dirty floor or hanging on the door hooks. We were seated promptly (we had reservations) but waited a while before a server came to take our order. It took 35 minutes for our food to arrive, and by then, we had to rush to make it to the show on time. We asked for the bill to be brought with our food, but when we received our meals, my Chicken Caesar Salad was actually just a regular house salad. The server never returned to our table, so I couldn't even mention the mistake. Overall, this is not a restaurant we will be visiting again, and we definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
