Thirsty Lion Gastropub Grill - Tempe

Food was really good! But extremely overpriced for the portion sizes compared to similar genre of restaurants. The most disappointing part was our appetizer. It was so small. For the money, I thought it would be larger. Additionally, my beer glass had a chip in it. I understand how this can be easily overlooked though. The waitress was pleasant but wasn't really great at her job in terms of coursing, and timing. I used to be a server and, she just missed the mark. I mean it took forever for her to greet us and she would leave us alone for a really long time without doing the standard server stuff where you check in at different points in the meal. But again, very pleasant.

This gastropub offers a variety of dishes from different cuisines. It may be a good choice for a corporate lunch when everyone is unsure of what they want to eat. However, while the food was decent overall, it lacked flavor except for the delicious fried fish. The surprising combination of jalapeño jam with cheese curds was a standout. If you enjoy putting jelly on your grilled cheese, you will appreciate this unique twist.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic! The staff was attentive and supportive. I will definitely be coming back. It's a great place for both family outings and adults looking for a good time!

The food was not the problem, it was the service that was lacking. I understand that serving can be stressful, but our server did not seem to care. Despite it not being busy, she took a long time to take our order and I had to ask for a high chair for my daughter multiple times before another server finally brought one. Just a tip for parents dining there, there are not many side options for kids. The kids' portions are quite large, so it might be a good idea to share if your children are under 5 or 6 years old.

My server Hannah was absolutely amazing! Her customer service skills are superior and she definitely works hard to do her very best. She made recommendations on what I should try since I have not been to this restaurant. Her recommendation for the fish and chips was absolutely delicious and I would certainly come back again!
