The Swan Taphouse - Telford

When researching Ironbridge before we came, we had our eye on this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had a massive chicken sharer board and got some burnt belly pork ends (although not very burnt, no complaints there however). Chicken was juicy and packed with flavour and we had no complaints. We had a couple of drinks with our food also as it was raining outside and we didn’t want to brave getting soaked just yet. The restaurant/bar was very cosy and had very dimmed lighting which made it very homely. Overall a fantastic place and staff were helpful too. I would say that the place is the very accessible for wheelchairs and doesn’t have a ramp but it does have an outdoor seating area.

Nicely presented place, great for drinks! The food overall was very good but dessert and service were a let down on the day we visited, I would simply put this down to young inexperienced staff on the day. To be specific, nobody asked how the food was, there was inflexibility of swapping one vegetable for another. Not a reason not to visit, but rather some constructive feedback for the management team.

My partner and I had the best roast dinner we've ever had last Sunday. We both went for the roast pork with crackling and it was outstanding. I wish we ordered more pigs in blankets as they were amazing! The service was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be visiting Ironbridge more regularly on a Sunday just for a roast at The Swan Taphouse.

Very disappointed for many reasons. There is not a proper full shower. No shelves in the bathroom for your things. The housekeeper would not give us extra towels or even one facecloth. Not enough parking for guests, we had to pay for a car park across the street. Our bedroom window is by the outside pub tables so lots of noise all night. The entrance to the rooms is thru the back staff entrance. Next time we will stay at the Best Western down the road.

Beautiful quirky and very old hotel stayed two nights great food and entertainment on a Saturday night. Stairs to rooms up a quirky staircase thought we was going to the moon not good if like me have mobility problems. All in all we enjoyed it beds very comfortable
