Bidrage med feedbackWe go to the roundabout several times throughout the year. Love the interior and outdoor seating area. Service is sometimes hit and miss. The bar area is lovely. Most of the time the food is pretty good and filling. It's somewhere local that we bring guests to when we don't feel like cooking. I'm a steak lover and for the most part it's cooked very well and we really have nothing much to complain about. Thanks guys for some yummy dishes.
I went here with my family and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I could possibly fault was their seating arrangement. As a family of 5 we were in a very cramped corner. The food and service was all excellent, nothing took too long and we had a lovely time. I highly recommend it.
I called in for lunch recently. The fish of the day was great. Well cooked in every respect. The service was great from all staff.<br/ The atmosphere cannot be beaten.<br/ It is everything that you need.<br/ <br/ I was amused by Chris' Eddy's comment about the english barman. I have never found him grumpy but as he is Irish he probably gets grumpy at being called english. I get grumpy when people tell me I am english.
I have been to this restaurant/bar many times over a number of years and the food always been of a good standard. The only gripe I have had is with the unfriendly English bar man. All the other staff are lovely and welcoming but this guy is downright rude and most people I have spoken to feel the same way. I am unsure how he has lasted as long as he has. It is certainly a much more pleasant experience when he is not working. I can't understand why someone so rude and uncommunicative would want to work in a front line customer service job.
Visited The Roundabout early on a Monday evening and it was packed. There were several tables already reserved for large parties and the bar was busy. There were around fifteen of us but we got a table without problems. <br/ <br/ We ordered pizza, mainly due to their special of two pizzas for $25. The food arrived promptly and was nicely presented on wooden boards. The toppings were great, lots of ingredients but not piled so high that they fell off as soon as you lifted a slice up to your mouth. <br/ <br/ Despite the place being very busy the staff coped very well and the meals were excellent value. If there is a down side, it is that the staff are not cheerful or friendly, which is a must have quality in hospitality even in a local pub. But if you don't mind your pizza with a side of maudlin and melancholy, you can't go wrong at The Roundabout.
