Fox Hounds - Taupo

CRAZY GOOD, I ordered the sticky pork belly on the small plates menu which was nothing small and it was absolutely delicious, the explosion in the mouth of the flavours was a joy, the pork was extra soft like melting, I didn't stop to enjoy every bite. I really recommend it. Very nice seasonal vegetables as well. The portion is bigger than in the picture but I have eaten it already and I felt that was worthy to share in the reviews ;

Excellent venue that caters for the whole family. All mains around the mid $30 mark for dinner. Service was superb and food selection, presentation and taste was great. A definite yes from us. Keep it up guys!

The 4 of us needed some comfort food and a drink or 2 and ended up having a fairly good roast and some good brews in a quiet cosy setting. The staff were great and the atmosphere was good, just needed to cook the roast and vege slightly less

We all enjoyed our dining experience here tonight and we were completely impressed with the customer service. Our waiter was polite, prompt, and even memorised all six of our orders. Didn't have to wait any longer than what would be expected. The food was fairly priced and there were no complaints, if anything, a little bit of cream with the sticky date pudding would have gone down nicely. We left satisfied and would quite happily recommend the Fox Hound to others. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

This charming and welcoming restaurant offers an intriguing selection of dishes from various cuisines. The pork sausages in the bangers and mash were a standout, boasting a satisfying snap and a rich, flavorful center, complemented by a generous serving of thick gravy and fluffy mashed potatoes. The seafood chowder exceeded my expectations—it's rich and creamy, packed with plenty of seafood, making it a perfect comfort food for winter. The burger, while simple, was well-prepared, and I appreciated that the cheese was perfectly melted, which is something I always look for! I personally prefer my patty to be slightly undercooked, but I understand that restaurants often avoid that for safety reasons. The chips were crispy and delicious. The pork belly came with a delightful sweet and sticky hoisin glaze, though I would have preferred it with a little more chili kick. While the meat was tender and easily pulled apart, the top layer could have been a bit crispier.
