The vibrant barge is used for the Phaung-daw-oo pagoda ceremony and travels around 14 villages on the lake every year in October. It is towed by boats rowed by the locals, and hundreds of boats follow the procession.
The royal Hintha Barge and other barges are sheltered at the Hpaung Daw U Festival.
