Tatura Hot Bread

This is it my #1 #vanillaslice #tatura #bakery . They dropped the ball a few years back had less custard powder in the velvety insides but in recent times they are back like a reoccurring bout of shingles but way more tastier. The pasty is flaky and snaps with every bite and the icing is sweet though not sickly. Vanilla Slice. Best vanilla slice in Tat, their pies are fairly good too (and have won awards nationally recently but my loyalties lie elsewhere in that regard :

We travelled to Tatura to try out the Vanilla Slice and found it was worth the hype. Could not believe the flaky and crunchy pastry delicious! Coffee's were great, staff were very friendly and attentive. Definately would recommend. I took home with me some of the vanilla slice and had the same reviews from all the family!

Tatura Hot Bread have a history of winning awards at the Merbein Vanilla Slice Challenge and again won bronze in 2014. I was excited to sample one of these on my way through the town.First impressions were very good with the addition of the Christmas decorative fondant icing a nice touch for my Christmas Eve visit. The freshness of the slice was clearly visible with such ease to cut and eat it. The custard so creamy , sweet and vanilla flavoured. The pastry so crumbly and crisp a knife cut through it with ease. Delicious and not hard to see why these guys have such a good reputation.
