Bidrage med feedbackWonderful time, as always, at Martyr's. We always bring our visitors here and this time we brought a foodie who placed his experience in the top three of his life! The service was superb. The ambiance is always a pleasure to experience. We will be back again. And again. And again.
We have eaten here a couple of times and always enjoyed the food and service. Not sure what happened this time, but my wife and I both ordered the lamb chops, which we both ordered medium. What we recieved instead were what I can truthfully say were the toughest lamb chops that I had ever eaten. They did comp us dessert, but by then I was too exhausted from fighting with the ram chops to even eat it there, so we took it back to our hotel.
What a funny place to have a meal! The outdoor terrace was beautiful...and the indoor area looked beautiful...except it was a hot summer day!!! The bar is very welcoming, the bathrooms are nice and clean. The atmosphere is really beautiful! This restaurant is located in the center of the city, great location! The menu is beautiful and diverse, something for everyone. Our server was spectacular, everything was pleasant.
My Hubby and I went last night after a nice day around the red river, including riding. We appeared without reservation and they immediately sat in the Cassita or as my Boo calls it “the little boys table”. Great ambience and delicious food, highly recommended, starting with the Caesar salad. For main dish, both the burger and the shrimp scampi. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. We hope to be back soon!
We ordered our salads, which were mediocre and soggy at best. For our main courses, we chose the ribeye and the salmon. I specifically requested my ribeye to be cooked medium, with a pink center. When our meals arrived, the ribeye was barely more than rare, so I sent it back. My wife’s salmon was supposed to come with sautéed spinach, but it was simply raw spinach tossed onto the plate. The side dishes lacked any flavor and seemed hastily piled on. We even had to ask for our bread. When my wife inquired about the spinach, the waitress responded that she had served that dish to other customers and theirs had looked the same, implying we must have been mistaken. Eventually, my wife asked to speak with a manager. She gave us a discount on our meal, explaining that the regular chef wasn't available and the substitute cook should have done better. We loved visiting Taos, but we’ve certainly learned to avoid this restaurant in the future.
