La Cocina - Taos

We absolutely love La Cocina (now Mantes Chow Cart South Side) for their large plates, tasty food, and a variety of Mexican and American options. The ambiance is comfortable and child-friendly, with an affordable children's menu offering generous portions. They provide high-quality plastic cups with lids for kids to keep and a Crayola crayon pack to color on the children's menu. I will share my thoughts on the new Mantes Chow Cart South Side soon, but I'm already confident that it will be excellent, as it is run by the same great people at Mantes.

This charming little restaurant is adorned with Christmas lights and has a cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We stopped by for breakfast during our visit to the city and were delighted with our meal. The strawberry Franconian toast and chorizo omelette were both fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through. Additionally, we noticed a patron at the table next to us had ordered the oat flakes, which looked amazing with fresh apples on top. We briefly regretted not ordering it ourselves, but we were satisfied with our choices.

Frito pies are sooo good. Staff is always friendly and everything on the menu is delicious.
