Bidrage med feedbackOrder and service seemed a bit haphazard. I had the cortex. big is a very large portion, a small would do if sharing or mixing. the bark was very hot. nicely seasoned, but it was very physically hot as it was. the rice was boiled, but again very hot. the meal of my wife (snake) was very good. I would maybe give this place a second attempt, but I wouldn't.
They came to dinner tonite when we saw some good reviews on travel advisers, restaurant itself is quite rough, order at the theke they pick up their drinks from the fridge art vibe, but eating is fabulous! we had a bark sambal, huhn satay and. a laksa, the sambal was delicious, tasteful and not fat at all, the satay spits were really soft, smokey and super authentic, the chef is creepy and served our dishes come to ask what level we wanted and he absolutely nailed it! laksa was rich and tasty amazing worth a starter, two nets and two alcohol-free drinks came to about $50 super authentic food at a very reasonable price
Never got to eat, we’d brought our own alcohol and were provided glasses by the serving staff then the owner came out and seemed to lose it. We had to leave without ordering. Found it strange for someone to run a restaurant in the Barossa...Valley and then be anti alcohol. I appreciate the religious differences that may exist but I wasn’t forcing beliefs or customs on anyone. Just trying to enjoy a meal with a glass of wine.
The Malay chicken curry was exceptional. A lovely flavour and lots of chicken, however the Laksa was too rich for us, and really needed more variety of seafood. Prices were good. Certainly worth a visit. Can sit in or take out.
A little gem in Main street of Tanunda. It’s very rarely nowadays do you get to chat to the chef who cooks your food. Authentic and flavoursome Malay food. All great. Will be back.
